Tools & Resources
Local Recruiting & the National Recruiting Center (NRC)
Our solid reputation and presence in the community attracts a steady flow of candidates to meet our clients' needs. We further strengthen our pool of qualified candidates through our continuous recruiting methods - from print media, to internet campaigns, to client-specific recruiting events.
In addition, we have assembled a national team staffed with professional recruiters to support our company-wide efforts. This team serves as a recruiting resource for our field offices. Our NRC serves every market in which we are located. That means, even if we only have one office in a market, through us, you have access to a wide pool of candidates - on a local, regional and national basis.
One of our strongest recruiting sources is our established network of reciprocal relationships both inside and outside of the staffing industry. These contacts provide access to candidates who may not be available through more traditional methods.
Screening/Skills Evaluation
It takes a lot to become an SOS Candidate. We meticulously interview, screen, and test every candidate because these individuals represent the quality of our service.
Our careful screening processes - from interviewing, to skills evaluations, to drug screens, background checks and I9 verifications - place the right person with the right opportunity from the beginning, reducing turnover and ultimately cost.
Interviewing: The screening process begins with a thorough interview. The interview gives insight concerning the Candidate's communication abilities, work history, and skill strengths.
Skills Testing: SOS uses Kenexa® Prove It!®, an award-winning leader in internet and computer-based testing to identify and select the ideal candidates for your positions. Prove It!® features over 800 validated tests for basic clerical, software knowledge, call center, financial, healthcare, industrial and technical job classifications. We also provide testing to measure specific talents, skills and attributes an applicant needs to successfully complete a light industrial or production assignment.
Reference Checks: Each applicant is asked to provide a five-year employment history and provide references. Our Account Manager will verify this work history and conduct thorough reference checks.
Background Checks: At your request, and based on your criteria, a background check will be completed before a Candidate is eligible to interview. To ensure results are complete, accurate, and in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) all background checks are performed through the SOS home office Risk Management department.
Security Clearance: If your company deals with government contracts requiring temporary associates to pass a security clearance, SOS can help. We maintain a secret clearance level granted by the Defense Security Services (DSS). SOS can provide employees who are required to obtain a confidential or secret clearance.
Drug Testing:Drug screening ensures safe and productive employees and SOS offers an excellent controlled substance testing program. At your request, we will perform a controlled substance test. If the preliminary substance screen shows positive, the sample is sent to an accredited and certified NIDA/SAMHSA (National Institute of Drub Abuse/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) laboratory for GC/MS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry) confirmation.
Confidentiality: It is always a good idea to protect your company's confidential information, as well as the private information of your clients. SOS requires all employees to sign a confidentiality agreement when they apply for work with us. Employees are specifically counseled not to disclose our Client's secret information before or after their assignment or interviews.
Technology & Reporting Capabilities
SOS BIO TRAX™
SOS Bio Trax™ is the biometric component of the SOS Trax™ suite of timekeeping services. SOS Bio Trax™ utilizes the HandPunch 1000, 2000, 3000, or 4000, which positively verifies an employee's identity in less than one second, to accurately and efficiently track employees' time and attendance. This technology removes potential time theft and improves payroll accuracy, saving your company time and money.
The HandPunch device works by recording an employee's hand geometry through use of an Infra Red digital camera. It records the size and shape of the hand and fingers to create a template for each employee, and is sophisticated enough to ignore surface features like rings, fingernails, dirt and finger prints. No one else can punch in or out for your employees, thus the HandPunch device removes the potential for issues like "buddy-punching".
The data collected is managed through SOS Trax; a web based application hosted by SOS. You'll have access to stored data over the internet - any time, anywhere. Managers can edit data or run reports using their internet browser. Permission-oriented logins will allow designated staff to manage the data and deny access to unauthorized employees.
SOS WEB TRAX™
SOS Web Trax™ is an internet browser-based component of the SOS Trax™ suite of timekeeping services. SOS Web Trax™ accepts punch entry over the internet. Do you have a call center were employees switch from product lines on a regular basis throughout the day and want to track time spent on each product? What about telecommuters or staff who travel extensively? Do you have employees that span several floors of a building prohibiting a central location for time collection terminals? That's where SOS Web Trax™ makes a huge difference to your employee management. Wherever your employees go, SOS Web Trax™ is accessible and ready. All you need is an internet connection and an internet browser.
